Ahmedabad. The ‘Statue of Unity’ may lose its status as being the tallest statue in the world. The reason for this is, two big statues being built in the country itself. These statues will be built in the states of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, one of Lord Ram and the other of Shivaji Maharaj. Interestingly, like Gujarat, both these states also have BJP governments. The statue of Sardar Patel was inaugurated in October 2018 at a place called Kevadia on the banks of the Narmada River in Gujarat.This statue of 182 meters height became the tallest statue in the world. However, now the talk of high statues being built in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, the outline of them is being told even more grand.
212 meter high statue of Shivaji will be built in Arabian Sea
A 212-meter-high statue of Shivaji Maharaj has been announced to be built in the Arabian Sea in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Initially the statue was to be built 192 meters high, but later the Maharashtra government increased its height to 212 meters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the project of statue of Shivaji Maharaj on 24 December 2016. For this, Modi also did Jalabhishek in Mumbai. The Maharashtra government claims that this memorial of Shivaji will be a major attraction for tourists from India and abroad.
221 meter high statue of Lord Rama to be built in Ayodhya
The Uttar Pradesh government has also announced that it will build the tallest statue of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already made a budget provision of 447 crores for this project. Officials had said recently that the idol of Shri Ram would be 151 meters high. With this, the height of the seventies will be increased by 20 meters and the height of the pedestal will be 50 meters, then the total height of the statue will be 221 meters. If this happens, the statue built in Ayodhya will be the tallest statue in the world along with Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Gujarat’s ‘Statue of Unity’ had the distinction of being the world’s tallest statue, breaking the record of the Buddha statue in China. The ‘Spring Temple Buddha’ statue located in Henan province of China is 128 meters high. It was built in 2008. Apart from ‘Statue of Unity’, ‘Spring Temple Buddha’, the world’s third tallest statue is the Gautam Buddha statue of Myanmar. Which is 115.8 meters high.
12 lakhs are being spent every day on the statue of Sardar Patel
According to media reports, Rs 3000 crore was spent to build the ‘Statue of Unity’. 12 lakh rupees are being spent everyday in its maintenance itself. Safari Park has also been developed near it. There is also a zoo, which has been prepared on 1300 acres of land. Recently, lions, tigers, leopards, 12 types of deer and antelope, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceros, bison and other exotic animals have been brought to the safari park from 17 countries.
27 lakh people reached the Statue of Unity in a year
According to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) report, 27 lakh people have visited the ‘Statue of Unity’ since the inauguration of the statue last year. These days around 8,500 tourists are coming here every day. In the first 11 days of the unveiling of the Statue of Unity, more than 1,28,000 tourists arrived. About 50,000 tourists visited on weekends during the early days.Reports state that about 10,000 tourists visit the 133-year-old 92-meter-long Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island on New York Harbor in the US. At the same time, more than 10 thousand people came to see the Statue of Unity in October.

Work began in 2013, completed in 33 months
The outline of this statue was prepared on 31 October 2013. An Indian multinational company Larsen and Tubro took the responsibility for its construction and maintenance with the lowest bid. In a short span of 33 months (about two and a half years), the basic structure of this statue was created, which was also a world record.

6 lakh people engaged in raising iron and copper
When it was decided that the biggest statue of Sardar Patel would be built, then the question was, where should we gather so much iron? For this, the Gujarat government created the “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Integration Trust”, under which 36 offices opened across the country and about 6 lakh people were engaged in collecting iron and copper.
5 thousand metric tons of iron got from farmers
About 5 thousand metric tons of iron was donated from farmers. 57,00,000 kg was steel. After getting the material, 3400 laborers, 250 engineers worked at least 42 months to make this statue. The cost came to 2990 crores.
Will see 2000 rare photos related to Patel
With this statue ready, the Sardar Museum is also being built. In this museum, you can see 40,000 documents related to Patel and about 2000 rare photographs of him. Now this idol is being discussed.

The government has introduced many new facilities to woo tourists. Recently, in addition to river rafting up to 5 kilometers, facility of Butterfly Park, Jungle Safari Park and Children’s Nutrition Park etc. started. At the same time Gujarat Tourism Corporation started providing tents for tourists to stay.
Ongoing work on more than 30 projects
3000 crore was spent in the construction of the statue itself. However, thousands of crores will still be spent here. To make the world a prestigious tourist destination, the government has started more than 30 projects here. Many more gardens, avenues, hotels, safari parks and other recreational parks are to be established here. An official of the Narmada Department said that such preparations have been done, the tribals will have to leave their land.

Last month, the famous American magazine Time also included ‘Statue of Unity’ in the list of world’s greatest places. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted this while expressing happiness. In the past, Modi also told how many tourists are coming to see the ‘Statue of Unity’ daily.
